Mugabe’s office responds to post cards
Several people who wrote to President Robert Mugabe have received a written reply. One of the earliest post card writers was Dorothy Hauenstein of Reardan, Washington, USA. In late November 2008 she received a letter on official “Office of the President” Zimbabwe letterhead signed by L. Kamwi, Principal Private Secretary to the President. The letter said:
Dear Mrs. Hauenstein:
RE: Words of Encouragement
His Excellency the President acknowledges, with thanks, receipt of your post card with words of encouragement.
The President thanks you for taking time to think of our country and for the uplifting words and encourages you to continue with your intercession.
Once again, thank you for writing.
The letter bears a stamp from the secretary dated Oct. 28, 2008.
Mrs. Hauenstein’s son Ron of Spokane, Washington, USA received a letter with the identical content shortly after Mrs. Hauenstein received her correspondence. Mr. Hauenstein’s letter is reproduced here. (Click on the image to enlarge.)
